You can delete your InShift account and your personal data at any time. Below are two equivalent ways to ask for deletion, what exactly gets deleted, what stays for legal reasons, and how long it takes.
One thing to know first: your account and your personal data are deleted, while your organisation's work records stay with your employer. That is your employee record with your name, shifts, hours worked, attendance check-ins, pay and payments: your employer is required by law to keep them, and your pay cannot be calculated without them. If you come back, your manager can send a new code for the same record.
1. In the app
The fastest option is to delete the account from the InShift mobile app:
- Open the More tab in the bottom navigation.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Tap Delete account and confirm with your password.
Your account and personal data are deleted as soon as you confirm.
2. By email
If you cannot reach the app, write to support@inshift.app with the subject Account deletion and include:
- the email address the account is registered to;
- the name of your organisation, if you remember it, so we can find you faster.
We confirm the request, delete the account and personal data within 30 days and send you a confirmation email.
3. What gets deleted
- your email address, password and Google sign-in;
- your phone number, photo, gender and date of birth;
- your payout details (card or account number);
- your time clock PIN and your personal calendar link;
- push notification subscriptions and tokens for your devices, and sessions.
4. What stays with your employer
Work and accounting records belong to the organisation you worked for and stay with it for the period the applicable law requires:
- your employee record with your name, role and locations;
- shifts, hours worked, attendance check-ins, time off and sick leave;
- pay, bonuses, deductions, payments and closed pay periods;
- your messages in the organisation's work chats, signed with your name.
To have those removed too, contact your employer. Anonymised service logs (with no email or contacts) may also remain for security and diagnostics, and database backups are overwritten within the normal rotation cycle (up to 30 days).
5. How long it takes
In the app, the account and personal data are deleted straight away. By email: within 30 days of the request. Backups are overwritten within the rotation cycle, up to 30 days.
6. Support contact
For any question about deleting your account or how your data is processed, write to support@inshift.app. We reply within 24 hours on working days.
