If you are a trainee, a manager puts you on the rota together with a mentor, and the app shows who mentors each of your shifts. If you are a mentor, the app shows whom you mentor and when. Mentors can change every day, so look at each shift separately.
These screens exist only when “Training” is turned on in your organisation. What a manager sees on this screen is described in Training in the manager app.
Where to find it
“Rota” → tap a day: the shift card has the line “Mentor: Olena” or “No mentor”. A mentor sees “Trainee: Ihor” in their own shift.
“More” → “Training”: the next two weeks. The item is there for someone in training or mentoring someone, and for a manager with the “Training” right.
If you are a trainee
The “Training” screen has the “You are a trainee” card and the list “Who mentors your next shifts”. If a mentor covers only part of a shift, their hours are shown next to them. Tap the mentor’s name to open their profile with the “Message” and “Call” buttons.
Trainees don’t make requests or swap shifts: they don’t give away their own, don’t take others’ or open ones, and don’t ask for time off. So there are no “Requests” and “Substitute” items under “More”, and a coworker’s profile has no swap button.
“Stats” shows your shifts and hours. Money appears there if training is paid and you can see your own pay.
If you are a mentor
When a manager publishes a trainee’s shift with you, you get the notification “You are mentoring a trainee”. The “Training” screen has the trainee’s card with “You mentor this trainee” and the list “When you mentor”. Tap the trainee’s name to open their profile and message them.
In “Stats” the daily breakdown has a “Mentoring” line with the trainee’s name and hours, if mentoring is paid.
Why an action is unavailable
No “Training” item under “More”: you are not a trainee and not mentoring anyone in the next two weeks, or the module is off.
No “Requests”: you are a trainee, and a manager decides when and with whom you work.
The shift card says “No mentor”: the manager has not assigned a mentor to this shift.
A trainee coworker’s profile has no “Request swap”: trainees don’t take other people’s shifts. If a request goes out anyway, the answer is “Ihor is a trainee: trainees don’t take other people’s shifts. Ask someone on staff”.
Questions and answers
Why is my mentor different on different days?
That is how it works: the mentor is whoever works alongside you on that shift. Look at each shift separately.
How do I stop being a trainee?
A manager moves you to staff from a chosen day and time. After that requests and swaps become available, and you are paid on the usual terms.
I was marked as a trainee in the evening. Is my morning shift a training shift too?
Yes. The “Trainee” mark applies from the start of the day it was set.
Does my mentor see my pay?
No. The mentor sees only when and for how many hours they mentor you.
